Can a BLE112 be an Initiator?

Been pouring over the Bluegiga documentation to get up to speed.

It doesn't look like the BLE112 can initiate a connection via BGScript. Looks mainly as though the scripts have support for scanning and advertising, but not connecting.

Am I reading this right? Is there something about the scanning/advertising documentation that I'm missing?

By the way, just looking for a way to transfer sensor data from one BLE112(server) to another BLE112(client).

Thanks for any help!

I haven't used these functions yet, but have you tried using "event gap_scan_response(rssi, packet_type, sender, address_type, bond, data_len, data_data)" and in that callback using "call gap_connect_direct(address, addr_type, conn_interval_min, conn_interval_max, timeout, latency)(result, connection_handle)"?

I'll look into the documentation and try those scripts out.

Also there's a BLED112 coming so that might help me troubleshoot.

Thanks!

Hi Paul,
I have a new sample project received from BlueGiga, where they
are using the following BGScript call to connect, once a device is discovered and matches with a given byte in the BD Address:

event gap_scan_response(rssi, packet_type, sender, address_type, bond, data_len, data_data)

if data_data(0:1) = $e5 then
call gap_connect_direct(sender(0:6), 0, 80, 80, 500, 0)
end if

end

(maybe this is only part of sdk1.1beta53, which should be available this friday).

Cheers,
Michael.
