Dear Dr. Kroll and other forum members,
Hello, my name is Robert Heffern. I am a researcher at UCLA working with small accelerometers for vestibular neuroscience. That's a fancy way of saying your sense of balance. We purchased some of these guys:
http://www.femtoduino.com/spex/femtoduino-ble . We are hoping to get them to echo out sensor data coming in from some sparkfun accelerometers (
https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10121). We have the system working with another arduino setup, complete with bluetooth integration (
https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10253). We are hoping to use the femtoduinos, as they are much lighter.
The femtoduinos have a BLE113 on them. I'm having a bit of problems with them and in getting them to become 'discoverable' to other bluetooths. Honestly, I don't know much about bluetooths and was told you all were experts. I don't expect much help, but to borrow from the older films: 'you're my only hope.'
I can upload to the arduino, and I see data back on the USB serial port. I am using the examples and libraries from here:
https://github.com/jrowberg/bglib/tree/master/Arduino . They were recommended by the manufacturers as a great starting resource. I don't know if they are.
If you know of any good resources or good people, I would love to hear about them. Thank you for any and all information, I appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Robert Heffern
