Post subject:  Communication with Windows

I've been working with the BLE Shield and an Arduino micro for about a week. Right now I'm trying to take a series of voltage measurements and transmit them remotely - nothing too complex. I have been able to get data read out from the device using Bluegiga's development GUI, but unfortunately I don't have an iOS device available to test connectivity or try out any automated data scripts.

Has anyone put together or know of a program on Windows that can be set up to automatically communicate with the services on the BLE shield? Any assistance would be much appreciated!

(I have a Bluegiga BLED112 USB dongle on hand that I've been using with the GUI)

Hi jpmcc007,

have a look at https://github.com/ahouben/BleDriver.NET.

The c interfaces provided with the Bluegiga SDKs (.c, .h files) are not state of the art for driving a BLED112 dongle from a Windows machine.

This is where https://github.com/ahouben/BleDriver.NE ... _bg_api.py helps to provide you with a comfortable C# binding given a bleapi.xml from the Bluegiga SDK (only tested up to the 1.1.0-55 version shown here though):

if __name__ == '__main__':
    bg_api('./ble-1.1.0-55/bleapi.xml', './BgApi.g.cs')

Unfortunately it only provides you with a very low level abstraction of the BgApi commands. A "real" application such as the Bluegiga development GUI or an application that you're looking for would provide more sophisticated functionality on top of BleDriver.NET. This still needs some development effort.

It may serve as a starting point for what you are looking for...
